Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, has called on the local NHS to demand copies of the so-called "horror stories dossier" from Liberal Democrat Pendle and Burnley councils.

The Lib Dem leadership of both councils met the Chair and Chief Executive of the East Lancashire Primary Care Trust on 31 March, promising they would hand over the detailed dossier within days.

On 16 April, leading Lib Dem Pendle councillor and member of the House of Lords,Tony Greaves, told the Pendle MP by e mail: "I should make it clear that the dossier will be handed over by the two Councils, and they are doing editing/finessing work
on it."

Speaking from Westminster, the MP said: "It is now three weeks since the councils met the local NHS and the editing and "finessing" has got to stop. If there are people out there with medical problems that are not being addressed it is irresponsible for the details not to be passed on to the NHS for investigation."

The MP added: "I want the representative bodies of doctors, nurses and health workers to look at the changes brought in on 1 November and to give us the honest views. If they stay silent the vaccuum is filled by Focus leaflets."
