Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, will be supporting an amendment to the Finance Bill next Monday (28 April) to compensate fully people who have lost out as a result of the abolition of the 10p tax rate. Speaking from Westminster, the MP said: "People who have lost out must be fully compensated and the money backdated to the start of the financial year (1 April). Putting things right must happen sooner rather than later with no long drawn out reviews." "The Government acknowledges an error has been made but saying sorry doesn't pay the bills." "This has done a huge amount of damage to the Government. We must work hard to regain trust." |
