Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, recently visited Nelson print and design company Image Works to take a look at the company’s processes and to hear how the recession is affecting local business.

Managing Director, Trevor Hind, told the MP that the company had been trading in Pendle for nearly 30 years, keeping abreast of technological developments and business changes. Over that period, the firm had adapted and grown, but with a different mix of customers – not just those in the manufacturing sector.

Speaking after his visit the MP said, “Manufacturing and production are the backbone of the British economy. The recent meltdown in the financial services industry through greed and excessive risk-taking brought the whole economy to the point of collapse. The rest of us are having to pick up the pieces.”
