MP Dismay at Breast Screening Failure

Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, today expressed deep concern at the failure of the breast screening service at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust to correctly diagnose possible breast cancer patients.   Responding to the statement issued earlier today by the Trust, the MP said: "The statement begs more questions than it answers but, for now, our concerns must lie with the women, their families and friends who have been put through this ordeal."   "I had arranged earlier to meet the Chairman and Acting Chief Executive of the Trust to talk about pressing issues. The Breast Cancer Screening Review and the position of the consultant radiologist involved will now be at the top of my agenda."
