What the media says about me...
"Gordon Prentice, lean and livid, led the tribunal like a latterday Robespierre. He was perfectly polite but suggested that Sir Hayden was a credulous, bumbling, time-serving, unreliable message boy."Simon Carr, The Independent. March 2010

Pendle MP, Gordon Prentice, is backing an emergency Commons motion which calls on the BBC and Sky to broadcast an appeal for aid to Gaza. The Motion, which will appear on the Commons Order Paper tomorrow, calls for a re-think by the broadcasters who claim their impartiality will be compromised if they air the appeal by the Disasters Emergency Committee. Speaking from Westminster, the MP said: “This is all about humanitarian aid and relief. It has nothing to do with the rights or wrongs of the conflict. The children of Gaza have as much claim to international help and aid as the children of the Congo or Darfur." The Committee was launched by UK charities on 22 January to raise money for Gaza aid relief and reconstruction. The Charities include Action Aid, British Red Cross, Cafod, Care International, Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Help the Aged, Islamic Relief, Merlin, Oxfam, Save the Children, and Tearfund See DEC website http://www.dec.org.uk/ |
